d.o.t.z technologies is part of the Family Resource Center Project (FRC) - an innovative project using the One-Village, One-Product (OVOP) model. The FRC Project aims at creating a long-term, self sustainable system for production, marketing and sale of local handmade products to promote income generation within impoverished communities. The principle behind the project is the use of cluster development and community mobilization for economic empowerment.
The project focuses on the economic empowerment of local women in Pakistan. FRCs are established in communities to work as the central place for economic activities. The FRCs also provide Basic Health, Early Childhood Development & Daycare Services to the women participating in the project. A pilot project is underway at the Chashma Village (Sindh Province). The value-added products developed by the local women are being sold through the d.o.t.z e-store.
